The first important point concerns a graphical refresh that Microsoft has implemented on all parts of the system, from the rounded corners of windows to a new dark theme. We will also find new animations and sounds, a more modern layout of File Explorer, the task bar with central icons, a renewed notification center, new icons, backgrounds, dedicated themes.

Windows will be able to adapt to different screen sizes and with touch devices it will modify the spacing between the elements and enable some gestures to facilitate interaction with the touch screen. The first impact with the new OS for us was very positive from a graphic point of view, an attentive work of the designers is perceived.

NEW START MENU AND SEARCH

It's always been a reference for Windows and needed a restyling, Microsoft has gone beyond creating a completely different start menu. First of all by default its position will be central (but you can always choose to align it to the left), the "live tiles" have disappeared and it has been reorganized with a "recommended" section where quick links to programs, apps and most often used files appear.

The search has also been improved, more "intelligent" in suggestions, quick and clear in displaying results.

WIDGETS

New customizable widget section with news and blocks chosen by the user, appears on the side in overlay with a slight transparency. Beautiful graphically and open to inserts of apps and programs on which Microsoft has invited developers to work creatively.

MULTITASKING

Working on many instances, on different virtual and physical desktops will be very simple with Windows 11. Windows can be locked to multiple points and compose a user-custom interface, the animations explain well what will happen and it will be enough to hover the mouse over the enlarge icon to choose where to attach the window.

That's not all because multitasking has been greatly improved on multiple virtual desktops and also using multiple monitors, for example by disconnecting a screen the programs will be automatically minimized and the arrangement of the windows restored if the monitor is reconnected.

MICROSOFT TEAMS

The platform for communications, calls, productivity and leisure of Microsoft will now be directly integrated into the operating system, it will not be necessary to install programs and additional components, every PC will be immediately ready to manage video calls and take advantage of the many opportunities offered by Microsoft Teams.

GAMING

The world of gamers will find a Windows 11 optimized to exploit the Microsoft Game Pass catalog and on gaming PCs there will be new possibilities to maximize performance and gaming experience with Auto HDR and Direct Storage.
